You don't SOUND relaxed.  But I understand the frustration.  Do you have to buy another pipe or *shudder* lower the stove by re-retiling the floor on a thinner board?  In any case, my sincere sympathies.

TA DAAaaaaaa!!!!!  It's IN.

We already had to buy a new 'elbow'.  I messed around so much with it, that I broke the airtight seal.

I took the pipe right out of the chimney, and attached it to the elbow, then shoved the whole thing, 'pre-assembled' stove and all, into the wall.  The pipe that was supposed to fit OVER the other pipe actually ended up fitting the other way around.  Small wonder I couldn't make it fit.

I am exhausted! All the painting went great, except for one stubborn wall. No matter how slow and even I try and get the paint, it still looks uneven? Like some spots heavier than others. But I rolled, and rolled....the house is still a mess. Maybe it will look better in the morn?

My girl and son are not home yet. Should be pretty soon. I really wanted to get it done before they came home.

P.C.

Awwww CK.  I'm sorry you're having a tough time.  Often it does look uneven until it's completely dry.  It may look better in the morning. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/liebe/d038.gif" border=0]

Well, what is confusing me is, the other walls look smooth? I am not even drinking tonight, so I know it is not blurred vision. Well, I did go and get a slush.

P.C.

Is it the dark wall ?

CK

Yep, it a dark wall. It looks fine until a light hits it at a certain angle. I wonder if another coat would help? That would be a 4th if I did. Maybe its too much?

If you hit 'Replies' on the board, it will sort in ascending order.  There are 18 and a half pages of topics with 0 responses.   (apparently I have too much time on my hands)  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/traurig/a010.gif" border=0]

I'm sure it's just drying unevenly.  I had the same problem when I painted the lounge.  4 coats IS a lot....it will take at least overnight.

I think I will decide in the morning? I think I need some wind down time.

P.C.

Yes you do.

Painting is tiring for sure.....but only half as much as disappointment.  I'm positive it will be good tomorrow.

Well, I better tidy up before my gang gets home. Sounds like they had a busy day too.

Hurray, P.C.!!!!  I'm glad you got it finished.  Does that mean the lounge is finished now?

I hope your paint looks even this morning, CK.  I always found the paint looked uneven until it dried, especially the darker colours.  Good luck on that.

Good morning Kitten.....yes....err....no.  Well the woodstove is in the living room.  Still need woodtrim around it, but that can wait.  There have just been a couple days, where a fire would have been nice....so I HAD to break my 'indoor work in the summer' rule.  lol

Well I'm running a little late this morn....gotta fly !  Have a wonderful day.
