Geesh sounds like goofy missouri synod lutherans. If I'm now in the not practicing/non religious/don't really give a shit anymore because the people running the place are full of it, catagory.

We couldn't sing anything but religious songs, couldn't go to movies, even cartoons, because they were the work of the devil.  School was suspect, but it was the law so at least there was something.  We weren't supposed to read anything outside the Bible and the school curriculum, but I would sneak books out of the library and smuggle them into my bedroom.  Reading was the big escape.  What a lot of garbage that was!

oh gosh, what idiots. My one side of the family wouldn't care what I read or watch but, must be social conservatives who must read the bible as truth. blah blah blah.

P.C.

I just got some great news.  It looks like my shift change has been approved and I'll just work morning and lunch shifts and have the rest of the day off.  It could begin as soon as Wednesday when I go back to work.  That's going to be so much better.

Thank you so much, P.C.  It looks like Wednesday was too soon to hope for, as I haven't received a call yet, but with any luck it will be by the end of this week.  I can hardly wait.  Only three hours between shifts sounds like a dream.

Your post blew me away!  Very creative!!

How is work going for you?

Three shifts in a day? What exactly do you do?
"We can't stop here. This is bat country."

It was two shifts a day, seven hours apart.  I am a caregiver for an Alzheimer patient and the job calls for heavy lifting.  It's really rather a difficult job since I'm essentially moving dead weight every time she needs shifting of position.

She's heavier than I am, so it is a hard job.  The mental stress is harder still, as she used to be a very intelligent woman and I feel so sorry for her.  It also makes me wonder about my future.  I'd hate to wind up like her.

You're still a young. heck most likely the next president of the united states if right wingers have there way again john mccain will be 72 when running, he's 70 now.

It all depends on family history i think.

Young?  At 65?  By the end of the work week I feel ancient.  But thank you, sportsdude.  That was kind.

Really your young. Think about it. Paul McCartney is only a year younger then you.

Old is my grandma 85.

The person I care for is 90.  It isn't that I feel old, it's just that my body doesn't have the strength it used to.  At a younger age I could have breezed through this sort of work, but now it is more difficult.  And arthritis doesn't help.

Yeah arthritis sucks. But as long as you take walks get out and such. I think a great place to walk to me would be Stanley Park.

I say better to go like my pastor did. He was 80 but had the heart of a 20 year old and was super active. He lived in India, played tennis and so on. He went to soon but it was quick. He had a brain anyueresm. His wife asked if he wanted some tea and she came back he was gone.

Now my grandmother is slowly withering away. Had a mini stroke and her mind isn't always there all the time.

kitten

The arthritis is in my back and legs and feet.  Walking is very painful.  When I finish a shift the first thing I do is soak my feet in hot water, and then put a heating pad on my back.  It helps somewhat.
