Its not 'well known' globally and then if you polled the affluent young people who live here (I guess I'm in this group) none of us are sticking around, we want to live in a city that's "alive" (Paris, London, Berlin etc). I prefer weirdness and crazy street life where a city feels like its on edge. Some like Vancouver for the winter and ski, others just like the laid backed attitude. But, everyone complains about the lack of nightlife.

It's thirteen and a half months since I retired, and all I can say is that I wish it had started years and years earlier. 'Must', 'should' and 'ought to' just don't seem to figure these days....their places all being taken by being taken by "when I feel like it".Yep, it's wonderful.

I will never see north of 5hrs of sleep again with construction starting outside my window and inside my building at 7am... ugh

I think my roommate is cracking because of it.

Oh that drill noise.

At least they've put away the jackhammer.

I got ear plugs and Engels showed up finally.
At a party someone gave me this east German planning book from a journalist before the wall fell, I didn't take it, now I forgot the title.

Its done by a journalist who was in 1988-1989 in East Germany, noted about the use of public space etc.
Bahhh. It'll come to me.

Quote of the century:

'Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater.

If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.

If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.

If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.

If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.

She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.

So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit!

I am SO glad to see the rain today.  Firstly because our forest is tinder dry...making it very scary.

But also because I have seriously neglected my indoor chores.

I heard rain this morning and did a little happy dance.

On the most wanted man in the world front.

Republican Governor Mark Sanford was found in Argentina after skipping out on father's day weekend. Nobody knew where he was located, he lied and said he was hiking in the Appalachian mountains. He just returned from Buenos Aires (I'd of loved to take that weekend vacation) to announce he had an affair with an Argentine woman. lol

To make it even worse, he went on this trip during Father's Day (has 3 boys), didn't tell anyone and politically he was against taking Federal bailout money designated for his state. His state has the second highest unemployment in the United States. Instead he goes to Argentina.

His first mistake in saying why he went to Argentina 'to drive along the coast'. There's no roads that go along the coast around Buenos Aires.

Michael Jordan's son at the University of Illinois, quit the basketball team to focus on school, get a degree and focus on his life after university.  Apparently to the masses this is horrible.
