Sounds like a good time Lise.  Can't go wrong with BBQ chicken.

So did you ask if you could star in the next movie ?????  It would be a block buster I'm sure.

Dinner tonight was a delectable hunk-o-salmon, some new local potatos and local corn on the cob.  Hubby cooked which made it taste even better.

 but, but, nevermind.
So I guess its just as easy to get into harvard as community college. ;))))))
But SFU is the easier school it says so on its front page. The accept everyone in B.C. with a 75-80 and above in grade 12 grades. UBC its much higher.

From SFU's website:
[a href="http://www.sfu.ca/prospectiveundergrads/"] http://www.sfu.ca/prospectiveundergrads/[/a]

With a 75% average, you are [a href="http://students.sfu.ca/admission/guarantee.html" target="_blank"]guaranteed admission[/a] to SFU. And there's still time to apply for Fall 2007.

And UBC's requirements are much harder hence the hard acceptance rate.

From now onwards, I'm gonna ignore (if I haven't already) all of SD's useful links.

I felt like asking if I could but I would most likely have to speak some Japanese which I don't. Unless of course, it's a porno movie in which case, no language is necessary. LOL.

I really hope he gets to direct sometime in the future. Right now he's a booking agent, working with actors and actresses. He books gigs for them, arrange appointments with the media and what-have-you-not. The hardest part of his job is dealing with emotional actresses. He has to cater to their needs. Yikes! I wouldn't want to be in his shoes but at the same time, it sound like an interesting job.

His sister who came to the potluck just graduated and will be working to study weather and climate pattern changes. Isn't that exciting? Just the criteria to be working for Mr. Al Gore.

Must be great to work in movie indutries. Hope your Japanese aspirant has something to say and that he will succeed.

Talking about Japanese movies, yesterday night on CBC after the soccer game, there was a serie of 3 old godzilla movies, including the original one, in B/W with Japanese subtitle. I like those, they makes me smile. Too bad it was so late.

It's Sunday. Insanity rules depending the day and lack of sex.

I like some of the old godzilla movies. Funny stuff. I can't believe ppl would actually do that, dress in fake-looking dino costume and go stomping on fake buildings... and still make money from that.

Lunch today was at Kingsway Sushi, by Kingsway and Boundary. Ugh. Not very good. Waitress was rude as hell and you had to speak your order (for AYCEB) which is kinda unusual because it was much easier to write down what you want and give the sheet to your waitress. Top-notch service by other servers though. At least the place was clean and new.

Why in the *$*^ did you continue to post links to SFU and UBC, SD when the girls told you NOT to and that they (including myself) don't give a fracking deal?!!!  Do you do these things on purpose to irritate us even more?!  If so, IT'S FRACKING WORKING!

I didn't post in here all weekend long because I would've pulled my hair out.  But, I'm at work, so am not allowed to do such a thing at work.

Lise, I've already ignored any stats that SD posts, so, you're not the only one.

I love the naivety in it, plus the"MESSAGE" about Hiroshima. In a way, I see a reflection of the traumatism of that event and Nagasaki in Godzilla, just like in Alain Resnais's Hiroshima mon amour, although of course these 2 movies are not at the same level of seriousness. It was amazing also to see how Japan is poor and industrially backward in that firrst Godzilla movie compare to the amazing society it has became since in light of development.

purelife

Hey Michel.  How was your weekend?  How are you enjoying Vancouver (or not) so far?

Michel

Hello virtual preety one.

Week end quiet, you know after a month on the road chasing landscape and wildlife, even a wildlife lover like me feel urban a bit. I was supposed to go hike the Tusk at Garibaldi Provincial Park with a colleague who has a 4 X 4, but thanks the weather forecast was bad there, so I could instead just go take a walk at Granville Island, there was a French Canadian musician there singing Piaf, Ferré, Brassens and other classics French song, so it was peaceful and relaxing to listen to him in the sun. Still,  we will go to Garibaldi, we're just waiting to get good wether for taking pics. Saturday, I went to a mexican store on the north shore pay for bookcase that I order before I left for Alaska, they are custom made so that they can fit in my annoying overpriced Van basement suite where my Ikea crap don't enter (too tall). Lol, can you believe it, all my books are still in boxes after all that time. The bookcases should arrive this afternoon.

Otherwise, I like Van for some aspects, but hated it for others.
