A comfortable chair, a good book, and no interruptions from the phone.......blissful!  I frequently manage two, but seldom three.  My phone number is one digit off an RCMP number, and as a result I get very strange calls at odd hours.

You've got it - and feet up as well. Just unplug the phone and remember it's YOUR servant.

I would love to, but there is always the potential emergency with work to consider.

Ah yes that too. Incidentally, in the course of our present session of chat I've become a hero and have therefore joined you among the ranks of the illustrious.

Ah, but you were always a hero, Gopher. It's just now being recognized.

Oh so that's why there are rose petals at my feet.

Should have been gold coins, but petals are cheaper.  But you are required to maintain your statue and keep it free of bird droppings.

Do heroes really have to maintain their own statues? Do heroines really have to maintain their own busts?

For the first, it's hard to find reliable help to do it for you.  As to the latter, that is a given, but they get to use props to enhance the scenery.

True, but every now and then they simply run dry .
