Good afternoon everyone.

  Lunch was at Cactus Club..had the spicy shrimp linguine.. yummmy.. and then I had blueberry pie with vanilla icecream cuz it was someone's bday today.

  pie and ice-cream = kumfort food!

  any plans for the weekend anyone?

good evening all

Yeah when I meant "out to lunch" lol I meant it. My friend and I don't have school on fridays and now that I have a car. woot we're getting out of town. So I drove to Courtenay/Comox wondered what that town was like, went eh, and took the scenic route home and had dinner in the best little town in the whole wide world. Then after that there was a fire in the best little town in the whole wide world apparently an ATM went off or something. So that was interesting. Just got back, gone as far north on the island as I want to go, Campbell River is too far away and probably a bore to go to (unless I had friends living there which I don't). Probably should of gone to Victoria but oh well, next week.
Didn't like seeing all the clear cut on the way on the highway, ruined the scenery for me.

Good evening everyone... I've got good news to share.

We found our 2bdrm place after we had checked it out tonight.  I'm just SOOOO excited!  It's absolutely huge, the only thing is that the ceiling is not much taller than me.  My guy practically hits the ceiling in some areas but it's manageable.  It's freaking huge!  :))))

yes michel its total devestation, easy to spot it from the highway with the snow on the mountains. They cut up right to the highway. Then when you enter courtenay you just see a bunch of clear cut. Next place I'll look is the Tofino route. pathetic waste. Island is a disaster because most of the land is privately owned therefore its anything goes, and people wonder why we have to boil water a lot. folks its not because it was a bad storm...

 yeah clear cutting on van isle is really really bad. they've clear cutted all the water sheds, salmon aren't spawning and we'll be eating liced salmon soon. Then on the main land pine beetle will kill 80% of the forests and instead of letting the trees rot and give life again; Campbell is poised to cut them all down...

our forests are near their end, the baby boomers have done a poor job of taking care of them, its our turn to bring them back.

Vancouver Island is mostly private land, forest laws passed in Victoria only bind to crown land. Private lands you can do anything.
 

They're easy to spot, especially in the snow. If it doesn't look "natural" then its clear cut and if they cut up the river banks (which causes the boil warnings all the time soil in the drinking water) then its clear cut.

  Hey, congrats on finding a place, purelife. I hope that bedroom will have mirrors on the ceiling for added fun.

  Kids are driving me insane. Sometimes I think my workplace is better than at home. I feel like I don't have any control here at home but with work, there's some measure of sanity there. *sigh*
