Question: I just finished the vodka and tonic.  What now?  Rum and root beer?  Rum and grape soda?  Or just open a bottle of wine.

Gin and Tonic? lol, that always reminds me of evergreen trees for some reason.

Um, I would have to say go for the wine Lil Me. Rum and rootbeer does taste right, Im not touching the grapejuice and rum comment.

I finished my caesar... Im thinking about having a SoCo and coke now.

Yaaaaargh!  I'd really like a Caesar right now.  It's on to water for a bit.  Then I'll think about another beverage.

Yer doin good Miss Pit !

Russ, I would recommend asking people who have it as opposed to asking at the Home Depot or taking my word for it.  They're in the business of selling and I'm now biased.....lol....

My next door neighbour went all out and got the granite counters....for everything.  The counters, the island, their bar.  They have cloudy 'stains' all over them.  They've tried every product...even specialized product FOR granite....no worky!  She's had them for less than a year, and she hates them.  I used to have access to a lot of super houses when I was doing draperies and decorating, and almost everyone that had them was frustrated with keeping them clean. (except for those who's kitchens were 'show pieces'.)

I have a few relatives that have them and LOVE them. Thats why I was asking why you thought what you did about them and why.. and what you recommended.

I take the home depot salesmen recommendations with BIG grains of salt. I too want firsthand experience and stories.. I was interested in what you had to say.

That being said I have no idea how much effort it is to clean and maintain them. That was the first I had heard about that, I didnt ask my relatives that aspect of it.. I will be for sure very soon! They have black with speckles granite countertops. Both of them. Have had them for a few years now.

I think I might have made my SoCo a wee bit stiff here lol.

Here goes the rum and RB.  It takes like rummy RB!  (go figure)  I've had the same bottle of Lemonhart for years- it only usually gets used for the eggnog at Xmas.  My neighbour drinks Capt Morgan Spiced with diet Pepsi and swears it's the best thing ever.

Good call Russ.  Obviously there are a lot of people who like them.  It only took me once to see a beautiful kitchen with all these gorgeous eathy colours and natural materials.....with a big pink glow from a red wine spill in the middle of their counter to steer me in another direction.

Anyways....there's a pillow with my name on it.  Good night Lil Me....Russ....Miss Pit (chin up and keep smiling!)

Captain morgan spiced rum is good.. my redheaded brother drinks that. That and Havana Club Cuban rum, you get drunk off of jsut the fumes from that.

However for the Russ... Im a die hard fan of Bacardi Gold. When mixed at the right mixture with coke and a slice of lime it blends completely with the coke so that you cant taste the alcohol, but its like a smooth tasting limey coke with a twang. mmmm.

I go through a 60 of bacardi gold every three weeks or so. I only buy 60's of bacardi gold, lol.
