This rummy RB isn't bad!  I had sworn off rum years ago, where the mere smell would set off waves of nausea.  So I started drinking vodka +diet Coke, + tonic, + cranberry, + vermouth with lots olives martini.

I tend to change my tastes every so often to something else, but I always sway back to Rum. Maybe its a sailors drink? lol.

Hmm, I wonder what happened to everyone else? You would think its late or something.

People keep disappearing and reappearing here.

I think rum is a sailors' drink.  Is it societal- because every other seafaring person drinks rum, or is it because every seafaring person really wants to be a swashbuckling pirate?

could be because there is a pirate on every rum label I see.

So can swashbuckling seafarers actually drink these days while employed at sea?  Someting tells me that wouldn't be a very good idea.

depends what company and what the vessel in involved in.

The vessels I work on are 'dry' ships. So when Im away I dont drink unless I get a chance when the ship is in for a period of time. Which isnt very often it seems.
