what do real life pirates wear and look like anyway?
Normal people really.. most of the piracy that takes place now is in Africa, Indochina (indonesia is REALLY bad right now according to a few friends), and some parts of south america. Think of the 'pirates of the carribean' in capt ron... as its true, fast boats with guns. They rob what they want off the ship and rob the crew, or kick the crew off the boat and steal the vessel and cargo. Happens alot more often than what the news reports.

It's a school on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo. I know somebody there and he thinks I'll get in but I'm not sure.

yup that's the one.
Malaspina-University-College to be more precise.
I want to go into Geography-Urban Planning.

I'm sure you'll be great at the Geo/planning, but you don't need to travel halfway across the continent to do so.  Malaspina College is seriosly probably a great school for the Islanders who have no other choices, but you don't want to be travelling from a U.S. metropolis to Nanaimo for college.

Malaspina? Is that where you applied SD? Thats the only college in Nanaimo that springs to mind.

Its a good college but mediocre in the grand scheme of things... why would you go all the way there from the US?

I know the island is awesome but still.. unless its a whole life change you are looking for?

EDIT: Drat you are both too fast. LOL, we think alike Lil Me

well I have very little options.
No school within a 900 mile radius will take me.
I couldn't live with myself if I went to school here, the state, region drives me bonkers.
The other school in Seattle, PLU, only has truely one option for me and that's politics and law. I'm tired of politics.
It can't be that bad, 1,500 of the 10,000 students are from overseas.

"overseas" at Malsapina College means people from Asia who don't speak English.  Not kidding.

plus I really have no choice.  I can't afford PLU, or even Western Washington for that matter.
