Our gas has dropped some in the last month.  Now what we thought was outrageous 6 months ago, seems pretty good all of a sudden.  I wonder if that isn't all part of 'the plan'....lol

  Well, must fly for a bit, Sportsdude.  Must get my clothes pressed for work tomorrow, and eat some dinner.  Be back later.

okay, yeah gas went down here right when the election fever started. Most of america thinks Bush ordered the gas prices down so the democrats can't use the high gas prices card against them. But right after the election it will go up again like it always does.

Experiencing some weirdness here.  Was going to FINALLY post some pics of the REAL Ebony Lounge, but Imageshack isn't working tonight.  An 'Amber Alert' window came up. (????)

Ok....these are some of the pics of the REAL Ebony Lounge.  I've been waiting until I took some better pics, but my camera seems to have bit the dust.  These are quite dark, but the best I have until I get a new camera.

The guy in the painting is hubby's great great great (or maybe it's only 2 greats,,,not sure) uncle.  It was painted in 1841.

A couple of those pics make it look as if the bar chairs are bigger than the bar, when in fact the bar is HUGE.  (bad photography....lol)

Awww, what a nice thing to say Sportsdude,

  Yup, that painting is pretty old.  It's due for a cleaning, but I have no idea about such things.  where to send it etc????  I think the last cleaning it had was in 1970 something....rofl.  I know it requires special care, but that's about all I know.

Ohhhhh.... that's the Ebony Lounge!    How did you come up with the name Ebony, PC?  Sorry if you had to explain before.

lol....because my idea of painting a feature wall in black got a little carried away, and I liked it so much, I painted all four walls black.....lol  Hubby cringed when I said it in words, but he loves the room.  Hell, he practicaly LIVES in that room.  (and he poo pooed the idea about changing this room into a lounge....lol)

1841, they must have been living the high life to have a painting painted of them. Meh, my family was living on dirt floors or being forced from there home, don't know which came first. I know they were forced from there home in Bravaria way back in the day and forced into Hungary. Dismal. Going to find the village in Eastern Hungary my grandpa grew up in, walk the same path he did. Same with finding that gulag my grandma was in, in eastern poland.

Well, your family doesn't have to have come from money to have a rich history, Sportsdude.  Sounds like yours could tell some amazing stories.  I like that you're interested in hearing them.  Too many people become interested in family history only when it's too late to hear it in their words.

  The Great Uncle in the painting was a doctor.  I guess that was something in those days.
