General Interests - DS Style!

Maybe like a "get to know you" thread. What are everyone's general interests? Poor DS needs a little gas it seems.

I can start.

- As you know, I love mountain biking

- BMX is an old school hobby that is hard to quit

- Skiing and Snowboarding (depending on conditions) back country and/or resort style

- Working with troubled teens

- Working for myself as a drafting contractor

- Music (Indie, Groove Metal, Classic rock, Alt rock, some house music. NO Country music, EVER!)

- Coffee rocks!

- As for watching sports, I love UFC and Boxing. I want to be a fighter, but don't have the skills.

- Cold Guinness makes me smile.

- Life first, work second

- Exploring my home province of BC, besides the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan

- Traveling, I am not well traveled, but will be!

- Healthy eating

- Not overly political because I hate all representatives, but would love to take the best of all of them too and unite into one.

- I'm born and raised in the GVRD although I have lived in other parts of Canada.
- I'm a part owner in an enviro consulting business.
- I work from home in the 'burbs.
- I sit on a bunch of non-profit boards.
- I'm a Scout leader.
- I'm training for a black belt in taekwondo.
- Skiing, camping, hiking, climbing, roller coasters.
- Love live music, caffeine, spicy food, martinis and red wine.
- Social leftist, a believer in Jesus Christ.

- I try to eat healthy but its a struggle
- purpose driven life (not the book just mindset) has been my religious view for eons. spiritual.
- Back home I was involved with Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at Hospitals, caring for the sick etc.
- Politically, I'm left wing but I don't consider myself left wing. Best I can describe myself in political terms is through political parties in Europe. Old Labour/Olof Palme Swedish Social Democrat who sometimes would vote Socialist Party of the Netherlands or Party of the Left (Germany) and The Left Party of Sweden. It's hard to explain in the north american context. lol
- I wish could get in a time machine and be a student in the late 60's-early 70's. I'm against political apathy, which will lead to the failure of our democracy. Our society is built on civic participation.
- like farms, grew up in and around farms
- I want to have my own huge garden when I get my own place or set up a community garden. I love gardens. lol

Good idea, Van!

My life is pretty boring right now, so I don't have too much to say what I'm active in.

- I LOVE my home and cooking, baking and entertaining friends and family. I love hosting gatherings and feeding people with good food.

- I've lived and worked in the UK for about 1.5 years

- I believe in family/friends come first over work

- I'm really into eating healthy and maintain that

- I stay healthy by being active - working out gym or home, walking, rowing, swimming

...and most importantly... cheesecake is awesome!
