Well, Ive been insufferable this morning so far... go down the back right before taking RSS to work while taking out the garbage and noticed that someone smashed in my drivers window, and rear slider. Fawk! Glass everywhere.. Alarm still on of course!

So I talk to the neighbors, then walk to my other vehicle which I didnt plan on using.. and as I walked by the front noticed the front lenses busted as well! Last time I priced them out because they were looking yellowish.. they were 480 a side.

So after taking RSS to work I looked around the truck, nothing taken. Buggers, could have at least made it worth their time to make me feel better. Called in.. got an appoitment at 11, Dial a Claim told me they want to verify that the truck is damaged! LOL. Like I want to lose my truck for a few days. Then I called a buddy who knows a body shop manager.. He said bring it to him and he'll do everything for me and give me a kick ass loaner :)

Have I mentioned I hate Vandals?

Oh nooooo, I'm sorry to hear that that happened.  I've had that happened.  People with too much time on their hands and probably been smoking weed and drinking.  Oh, I hate them too.

One time, my brother's car got smashed in by a crow bar on the driver's side.  It took my brother FOREVER to try to undent it.  NOT FUN.

P.C.

Ohhh, Russ.  I'm sorry.  What a pain in the butt.  Senseless crap like that makes me wonder just how bored a person has to be, to find smashing other peoples property entertaining.[/DIV]

Russ

Yeah.. thanks. Ive had windows broken before when they steal stuff, but not just break and nothing. Wonder if the alarm bleeped like it does prior to going off and it scared them off. First time ever for that truck.. and first time we have had any problems with where we park on the concrete pad in the alley there.

Usually they break the side windows.. and I will just replace em. I talked to a few people now and found out it would be ALOT to replace.. 480 a headlight unit (two of them), 200 for the drivers window cause its a special shape used for only three years, and 340 for the rear window cause its a slider and they have to replace the whole unit. Ooof, Im for sure doing the 300 deductable.

Yeah, Im hoping its just kids PL. I mean when I was younger we would go around and do stuff, but that was like push mailboxes over, or we moved actual street signs a few times to different streets too. We put a guy in a garbage can one time and rolled him down the hill at Queen Elizabeth. We thought it was great and wanted to do it again but he didnt think it was such a good idea. Nothing that actually destroyed peoples personal property.. Different times I guess.

LOL.  That must've been some roll for the guy!

Yeah, times have changed for sure.  When we were kids, I used to ride on a back of a truck.  I did the "hop on, hop off" thing.  The driver never noticed.  I used to play knicky knicy 9 doors (sp?).  That was hilarious.  We did prank calls.  We also called the sex chat lines and list ourselves up for dating.  Uhhm, I wasn't involved.  Oh, and we played hop scotch, chinese skipping rope and marbles.  Those were good times.

Lise

Dang, Russ old boy. That pretty much sucks!!! I can understand. It's a real pain in the ass when you get these kids or druggies who attack your property just because they're in the way or it's something for them to do for fun. Rotten scumbags.

Hope the cost to fixing your trunk won't hurt your wallet as much.

Russ

well, got an appointment in about an hour, then I pay a 300 deductable. I talked to ICBC and they said no extra charges.

ICBC will cover for the damages when you pay the $300 deductable?

Russ

Yeah you pay 300 deductable, then it doesnt count against your rates.. cause its not a write off or collision.

  Ok, im off.

Did what? all we did was things that didnt damage stuff, just moved things.

The rolling down the hill thing we still talk about. LOL. And we cant convince him to do it again.. to this day.

So, ICBC guy was a bit of a twat, but overall a nice guy. I took the truck to the place and its already in.. gave me a 2005 Corolla to drive. I get it back next week.

They are changing all of it, no used stuff. He said they will change all the light bulbs as well front and rear. Super nice guy at this place. Im getting some business cards and recommending this place to my friends!

Oh wow, ICBC was efficient.  I'm glad to hear that that ran smoothly for you.

Russ

True. I was surprised that I already had it reported, assesed, and in being fixed with me driving around a loaner.

Ill see the final product, but I was told they would completely clean the inside of my truck and shampoo it too! I think I have washed the outside or cleaned the inside twice.. since I got it 7 years ago.
