If Chinatown truly reflected mainland China I don't think most of its residents would be very happy.
Just my opinion. I'm not a big fan of authoritarian dictatorships. Of course, there is a difference between government and culture so hopefully they were referring only to the cultural apsects they see lacking from Chinatown.
I should probably censor this post as well. I'm not trying to start a fight but the Chinese government can eat my balls >

EDIT: Yeah, good call SD. I just don't get it. Traditionally, the Chinese have been long-term strategic thinkers but in the last few decades the focus seems to be on short-term economic profit and to hell with the consequences.
