purelife and Lil Me, you should have a great time camping. I am jealous! I am staying in the dumb ass city to catch up on some of my work. BLECHHH!!

I couldn't imagine staying with a girl long term if she wasn't into evacuating the city and into camping?? Your hubby's are lucky!

 In the meantime...coffee is on.

Camping is fun.....errr...WAS fun.  I'm just done.  I grew up in a family that camped from the time we were in diapers until we left home.  I in turn with my own family camped/hiked from the time my kids were in diapers.  Now when I get the urge.....I put a nice bon fire in the yard, grab a coffee and poke the fire like the olden days.  The wonderful campfire smell will stick for a good few hours if done properly......lol

lol.....yup.  That's what we call it.  Perpetual camping.  We just up-graded on the tent a little.

haha! You are truely in heaven

well, I do 2 types of camping. The one where there is a lake at my feet (Kootenay). Usually involves a cooler, BBQ, music, friends, couple beers. Then there is the other camping I only do with certain friends. usually involves a hike or bike, small tent, small food portions, but usually somewhere heavenly.

BC has the Coast mountains, Purcells, Selkirks, The Rockies, a trillion (ok, maybe not a trillion) lakes. I couldn't imagine spending every weekend sitting in the city watching reality TV or football? hanging at mcDonalds or the mall?

Actually, I wish more people hated camping...more room out there for me! ha!

Oh, I don't hate camping.....I'm just done.

Dad's philosophy about holidays, was to know your own backyard before you check out the neighbours yard.  So travel BC is what we did.  I don't think there is a lake or stream in BC that we haven't dipped our feets in.  He was also a fan of solitude....so genearlly, Provincial Park Campgrounds were not his thing.  Logging roads, sometimes barely more that a path, roads....anything that looked like it led to somewhere away from the masses.

This was my Dad's favourite line....."I wonder where this goes'.

Sounds like your dad and me would have got along.

amazing, some of the beautiful hidden lakes up some of those logging road.

My dad liked doing that for fishing camping trips.

The only major campground style camping we were into was an annual trip to Chelan in Washington. Beautiful lake.

haha!  I think that is the same story across BC these days.  Some of the RVs putting down the highway are bigger than a Greyhound bus.
