I remember going to Uncle Willy's when it first opened (W Broadway) around 1987?  My entire family was lined up outside to make the early bird special before 5:00 pm.  There was a crowd of "Friday regulars" who came at the same time every week.  Good times.  I remember the food being great, but I was about 12.

Just curious, has anyone here been to Reno?

If someone has been there, I just wanted to find out how his/her experience was.  If I didn't have my rowing this year, I would've visited Reno, Nevada with this group who was planning to take the Bus.

I've been to Reno a couple times, yeah.

It's an ugly city but if you like to gamble then you will have fun. The odds are better than you'd find somewhere like Tahoe (so I've heard). If you don't like to gamble then don't bother with Reno. I don't really enjoy gambling so the place is sort of depressing to me, but not nearly as bad as Vegas. Ugggg.

 ah okay.  Well its called The Little Biggest City in the World.  Its like Las Vegas (lots of casinos) its a half hour from Lake Tahoe.

Yeah Reno is for the Hardcore gambler.  While Vegas has shows and a neat strip to walk at night.  Reno is just casinos and then if you wanted to get away there is Lake Tahoe.

I remember that one too Lil Me.. its not the best food, but its actually not that bad. You cant expect gourmet. But they had perogies, cabage rolls, fish, noodles, ham and roast beef they will slice for you, then they had slow roasted and deep friend chicken. They also have salad stuffs. Then deserts and ice creams.

  Hey PL, whats the name of the all you can eat hot pot that you were talking about? We were discussing going to a place like that. We know of a wicked korean bbq place near joyce and kingsway. Not all you can eat though, lol.

yeah I agree. I'm not a big fan of Vegas, I've seen what gambling can do to people.
Out of the southwest my favourite city is Denver.

Pacific Northwest: Seattle
West Coast: San Fransisco
Southwest: Denver
Texas: Austin
South: Miami
Midwest: Chicago
New England: Boston
Northeast: New York
Mid-Atlantic: Washington D.C.

Those are about the best cities in the country region wise.  Never been to Austin or SF but I'm not a fan of LA.

Hmm, thanks for that tenkani.  So, no such thing as sight-seeing in Reno?  Glad that I didn't committ to that then.  Not a gambler myself either.

  I'll have to ask my brother, Russ.  I don't remember the name.  I'll let you know when I get it.
