True though too dependent is too much. Kids today, they're too dependent on their folks. Just look at Stats Canada. The number of kids staying home with mom and dad are increasing though I don't blame them. With housing prices skyrocketing, where are they going to stay?
Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name will carry.
Bill Cosby.

P.C.

Yup.  And that's a bigger issue than tuition.

I guess it staves off that empty nest syndrome for parents these days.  In the old days, the idea of  turning your teens bedroom into a snooker room/bar is on hold for a few more years.  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/c008.gif" border=0]
Sir Isaac Newton invented the swinging door....for the convenience of his cat.

Maybe if you do it, they will leave home.  Kind of hard to sleep with billiard balls flying over your head.

Oh, somebody mentioning Stats Can and it wasn't me. LOL

Yeah I like to say I did my 3 years at home before I went to university and not after. Plus why would I move back? And I sort of have paid for my education. All my paycheques over the summer went to schooling.

But honestly. The way the BC economy is going. You can realistically pay for most of your tutition (I said most) by working the summer jobs. I mean I just saw an ad in the paper for 20 bucks an hour at mcdonalds here in Nanaimo. 20 BUCKS!!! Holy S#@! I told a friend what I saw and he told couldn't believe it.

So when the economy is this good, kids don't have an excuse honestly. That's why I'm filling out my workers permit over the weekend. So come summer I can find a job and during school I can get a job on campus for 10 to 12 an hr.

GIANT EDIT: Just got an email, I just made 20 bucks. lol sweet.

SD, try getting a job that's related to your field of study........in the long run it is going to help in your post graduate interview or your job interview after graduation

If you're gonna focus on a career in urban planning, start at the very bottom which is working for the city in their operations department.  All sorts of menial jobs there that big, sturdy laddies like you find effortless; the landscaping, cleaning up public properties, etc.  Pay is usually good like $15 an hour for students.  You'd get to spend the summer mostly outdoors.  The people that hire you will be the same sort of people you'd need connections for when it comes to graduate school applications and future careers working in city engineering departments.
