Yes. Already done so. It's such a pain but it needs to be done.
Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name will carry.

I never grew up in that kind of snack bracket. The rule was....2 weeks after graduation to get a job, move out or pay room and board. If you want to go to uni...get 2 jobs.....lol.

I don't think it was a family stance......I didn't know a soul who's parents paid for a university education. (or bought them cars and gave them credit cards or apartments) In their eyes, it was part of growing up and becoming independent. Their motto was 'you always appreciated more, the things you earned'. I suppose it's old school, but I tend to agree.

True enough. But at the rates that tuition is increasing, it's good to have a little bit put away.
The Canadian gov't grant is free money...so why not?

In my case, my parents weren't poor enough for me to qualify for loans and I wasn't smart enough to get scholarships..........caught in the middle, so had to work!

I agree....to a certain extent. Tuition IS increasing.....but in relationship to even minimum wage, they have risen in stride.....all things remaining somewhat equal. (of course living expenses have NOT been as equal and take a bite out things a little quicker)
I think, if it's something you can do for your kids.....why not. (I'd still hold out a little.....lol. It's amazing how much more seriously you take your courses when you've had to work for them) I know......it's really old fashioned thinking. No, no... it sound idea, PC. If you want an education, you have to work for it. But having said that, I'm going to help my kids as best as I can but I'll also encourage them to find work if it suits them and their timetable.

I think things are changing in that respect. I always think of it as an 'American' concept.....(although I don't know that to be true from my own experiences.....it's just how I've always thought of it)
I think the plus side to kids remaining dependant, longer....is it puts it back into perspective, that other cultures share their living spaces with 2 or 3 generations of family. And that
has
to have it's benefits too. (and I don't just mean financially)
