Thank goodness her freeloader parents weren't burdened with that awful sotgwpdt medical coverage stuff! Who knows what would have happened then...

A little girl has to wait for treatment, which ends up causing the amputation of both of her feet and one of her hands.

"Franzon (one of the child's doctors) said it is unclear whether immediate emergency care would have prevented amputation of her limbs"

Gee, I bet I could take a stab at guessing whether or not it would have made a difference...let me think...

But a series of surgical procedures have been successful and, with prosthetics and rehabilitation, Malyia should "be able to do whatever she wants to do" in life, Franzon said.

Well, sure, she can "do whatever she wants to do" in life, except for stuff like, I dunno, walking and using both hands?

"While Malyia's parents have medical insurance, many of their daughter's bills will go uncovered, including a $26,000 tab for her helicopter ride from Sacramento to Palo Alto, Jeffers said. The couple are paying just $10 a day to stay at the Ronald McDonald House, but must cover their food and transportation costs."

Oh sure, so after all this they can't pay the bill. Damn those poor people without healthcare!! Why can't they just be rich, like they're supposed to be??

The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

They to go on a talk show to tell their story. Then set up a fund for donations. Doesn't change the fact that they were f'd over but every little bit would help them out at this point.

I'll never understand how a person can be treated so unfairly by those who take an oath to help those in need.

apathy & greed. avarice & loss of accountability.

I can only hope they can get some excellent lawyers take take the case probono and fight for their child... It should never have happened..

I hope the Hospital plus the nurses and doctors in charge can be charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm to a minor. A tradgedy that did not need to happen if the hospital staff had actually done there job...
