Mine was huge so I tried to change it and the site wouldn't let me. So now I'm picture-less

Mine's gotten a little bigger but it's not GIANT that require a scroll bar.

Your's looks normal....and mine looks normal.  Orik's, Gophie's, Lil Me and a few others are HUGE.
I've been looking to see what's changed, but haven't figured it out yet.

It was me, fiddling with controls. Should be back to normal now, but in the future if a user's avatar is like really, really big, it may not show up. Some people are/were linking to these friggin' enormous avatars (both x-y size and file size) and it was making the board slow down a bit. There's no reason to have a 1-megabyte avatar, no reason in the world.

Am I one of these peoples causing the board slowdown?

hope is not my frog slowing things down. and if i knew how to resize it smaller and still keep the animated gif features i would do so... . i find most of my avatars on tinypic.

I didn't think anything could get any slower in here.

As for page loading etc.....I have no trouble.

Nope, your avatar is lightweight and fast (and I love it, too!).

Uploading avatars has some inherent security risks that can't be easily mitigated, unfortunately.  That's why that had to be restricted. If they come out with a patch or fix, it'll be reactivated.
