Oak doesn't quite match with the black furniture. I've been into black furniture for quite some time... but my guy prefers solid oak...

OMG, does that mean I'm secretly a gothic chick?

Yes, I'd like to think that I'm that Matrix chick.....

Ahhh....purelife, another person of fine taste I see.

Michel ?  It's time to get with the times.  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/g015.gif" border=0]

Yes, I have fine taste in women, especially dressed in black. ;)

You might be surprised to find that I LOVE rich woods.  I have a lot of antiques that manage to look pretty funky in a slightly contemporary decor.  (well...maybe more eclectic than contemporary)  But I wouldn't dream of painting them.  That's the beauty of antiques....they just get better looking with time and they go with everything.  Todays style and craftmanship gets boring sometimes.  I've had oak kitchen cabinets in every house I've owned.  No imagination I tell ya.

This one should make you shudder Michel.  Many years back, I bought a beautiful Early Canadiana piece, and actually cut a hole in the top for a brass vanity sink.  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/frech/h030.gif" border=0]

  Almost everything I wear is black.  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/c018.gif" border=0]

The thing that I notice with black furniture is how well you could see the dust.  Do you find that you have to dust every so often, PC?

P.C.

Very much so purelife.  But it seems like cobwebs and dust here accumulate faster than any house I've ever lived.  I just decided to make peace with it.

Black furniture only SHOWS the dust more....it's still there no matter what colour your furniture is...so better to have it give you notice I guess....lol

Do you have any areas that are carpeted or is it hardwood throughout?
