More problems as the Toronto plant tests positive for listeriosis
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency confirmed late Wednesday (Oct
night that four new positive test results for listeriosis were found at the Toronto Maple Leaf Foods plant, which has been linked to 20 deaths throughout Canada.
The news came only weeks after the plant had reopened following a lengthy closure.
"Four positive test results for Listeria monocytogenes have been found from over 2,700 product samples reported to date," a Canadian Food Inspection Agency statement said.
