Can anyone think of  some examples of behaviour which typify the word 'cool'?

Let's try a text version...

[span]Snoopy first appeared in the PEANUTS comic strip on October 4, 1950, two days after the strip debuted. He is Charlie Brown's pet beagle and at first seemed like an ordinary dog. Over time he evolved into one of the gang's more exuberant personalities and today is one of the most recognizable cartoon characters in the world.[/span][/p]  [span]"I think we'd all like to be Snoopy", says Craig Schulz, son of the famous cartoonist. "He resonates with just about everybody because he personifies most people. There is a bit of a dreamer in all of us."[/span][/p]  [span]In the book entitled PEANUTS Jubilee[span],[/span] Charles Schulz wrote, "I have to be careful not to let the ubiquitous beagle run away with the strip." Snoopy certainly exudes more confidence than the other characters -- especially his owner, Charlie Brown. [/span][/p]  [span]He is suave and debonair as he flirts, delivers witty comebacks and offers comfort and big kisses to the other members of the gang (usually illustrated in the strip as a "SMAK"!). Readers delight in the visual sight gags and body expressions Schulz gave Snoopy when he flashes a charming smile or does the "happy dance" while waiting for his dinner. [/span][/p]  [span]Charles Schulz, known to friends as "Sparky", continued to expand Snoopy's role by creating over 100 alter-ego personalities including the World War I Flying Ace, Literary Ace, a tennis pro, a golf pro, Foreign Legionnaire and of course, Joe Cool.[/span][/p]  [p style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 0);"][span]"In the 70s my siblings and my friends used the name 'Joe' to describe someone who was an expert at something," says Craig Schulz. "Dad picked up on that and started using it in his comic strip. Snoopy was the perfect character to use for this since he had so many interests and alter-egos."[/span][/p]  [p style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 0);"][span]Joe Cool made an unofficial debut in the PEANUTS comic strip on June 13, 1970, when Snoopy was drawn with sunglasses for the first time. He was officially named "Joe Cool" nearly a year later on May 27, 1971. Since then he appeared regularly in the strip especially throughout the 1970s. Joe Cool also flaunted his "expertise" at many other activities, dubbing himself "Joe Surfer", "Joe Skateboarder" and "Joe Hunk". At one point he even participated in one of the more notorious pastimes of the 70s: Streaking (which involved ditching his sunglasses and collar)![/span][/p]  [span]In this year's "Joe Cool Summer", talented artists have given this beloved character their own creative interpretations. Ninety five statues will adorn the streets of Santa Rosa, and maps will guide people on a special Snoopy adventure.

I once saw a woman in a department store take a roll-on deodorant off the shelf, use it, and then put it back. At the time it seemed like the coolest thing I'd ever come across.

Lil Me

hilarious.
Though some might argue that was "common", not "cool"..

Whoa! That's really cool! How did they grow the cucumbers into those shapes?

They're really cool Lise.  You can get them for tomatoes and squash veggies as well.

  They look like this....

You snap them over the veggie when they are young, and they will  fill the shape as they grow.
