lol people aren't digging hitler's torch this year. lol It seems to me that each city is trying to one up each other in protesting. Good to see people caring.

Always good to see people caring.  I just wish they could keep politics and the Olympics separate.

The way things are headed, it'll be one more 'tradition' to bite the dust because of our inability to do so.

Olympics have been politics from the first day, otherwise, there wouldn't be national anthems, flags, parade and so on, just individuals performing. Then it might been more interesting.

My thoughts ...

Perhaps not sending athletes to a country is better than dropping bombs on innocent women and children ... not sure though .

well the olympics were suppose to be during times of peace. They don't like it when wars are going on. lol
IOC doesn't want to see the Soviet Union versus Hungary water polo match of '56 again.

That water polo match was about as 'political' as 'political' you can get during the olympics.

It's kinda sad. I'm with PC though, I do wish that people would try to exists together for a great event instead of making a big deal out of something else. Yes, yes, I know that China has human rights issues but we should also celebrate the achievement of our athletes.

Haha.  We'll have an audition to sort them out.  Hawt ones to Lise, ugly ones to the Olympics!

Definitely. We should judge them on their prowness and probably how well endowed they are. Hehe.

When the olympics include freeride mountain biking, I will take it serious!

just kidding...

It is too late anyways. If the world didn't want China to have the olympics, why did they get it? Tibet was an issue 8 years ago when they picked the city.

We should spend our energy protesting the New Kids on the Block trying to come back!

First off ...
The whole Chinese thing pisses me off - the way they cover things uplike we used to in the 50's and the US is doing with Iraq and Osama - how dare they!! nope no problemin Tibet - come along on a choreographed - very restricted tour of tibet - but don't talk to anyone other than the chinese army guys dressed up as monks ....

Second of all - can they call themselves New Kids?? - ctikey they are middle aged and they've already been around the block!!

The IOC is publicly musing now getting rid of Hitler's (give glory to the third reich) Torch Relay. No comment yet from the Nazis.

According to wikipedia ... they were assembled in [a href="vny!://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston%2C_Massachusetts" title="Boston, Massachusetts"]Boston[/a] in 1984

Sooooo lets do some math 2008-1984 = 24 years.
Lets assume they were 16 in 1984 - that makes  them... 24+16 = 40 average life expectancy for males in the US is 75.6 years which puts them just past middle aged.
[tbody]

[/tbody]
Now I'm not trying to say anything but unless you are at an old age home - most people aged 40 do not rank as "KIDS"  furthermore since this is their second time around they don't qualify as "NEW"  therefore ...  2/3 of the mooniker no longer is accurate.  That's all.

Perhaps "Second hand middle aged adults on the Block" may be more suitable.
