I'm trying to imagine how weird that would be, to see an aircraft park it in your living room.

I read on DATW that the pilot was at least 82 years old!! That seems wrong! One shouldn't be driving or flying around that age.... no offense.

Yea....I was kind of thinking the same thing.  It's very heartbreaking....but I think there comes a time when you have to hang up the wings.  They said he was very sharp and had all his faculties, and yet, I still wonder if we are going to be capable of reacting as sharply when we getting into those years.  I sadly don't think so.

My first thought was the same when i saw it was an 80 something year old guy.

Family seems to think otherwise though.

"It's important, I think, that everybody knows that we had 110 per cent ... faith in Peter's flying ability. He was a superb pilot," said his stepdaughter Micheline Chavigny, who is acting as spokeswoman for the family. Chavigny, herself a student pilot, said she flew with her stepfather in his plane on Sunday, Oct. 14.
