The ladies on 'The View' today felt compelled to address [a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 191);" href="vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/index.php/topic,5575.0.html"]Sherri Shepherd's statement Tuesday that she didn't believe in evolution and didn't know if the earth was flat or round.[/a] Shepherd today said she knows that the earth is round, but had a "senior brain-poopy moment" yesterday.[/p] Elizabeth Hasselbeck, the other conservative co-host of  'The View' [a href="vny!://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMHKsPzo5Qo"]defended the excuse Shepherd offered yesterday[/a], that she was just being a good little housewife, and need not be bothered with things like basic scientific knowledge. Here is what Elizabeth Hasselbeck said:[/p] Partial transcript: [/p][blockquote] HASSELBECK: I don't think you have to learn to be perfect either... you're just yourself. I thought you handled that so well yesterday. You said 'You know I actually, my mind is full of what's my son doing right now, what am I going to feed him for dinner, I'm a mom.' Like I think that's completely fine to say 'You know what, today I don't care if the earth is round or flat. I may not care tomorrow, I just wanna know that...'

I thought you avoided thinking so well yesterday. You said 'You know actually, my mind is turned off, I have no idea what's my son is doing right now, what am I going to pour into the pig trough, I'm a sheep.' Like I think that's completely fine with our corporate masters to say 'You know what, today I don't care if the earth is round or flat. I may not care tomorrow, I just wanna eat a lot and watch tv.'[/p]Link to YouTube video: [a  href="vny!://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMHKsPzo5Qo"]vny!://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMHKsPzo5Qo[/a]

The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

Funny.....motherhood never rendered me brainless.  (although I'm sure there are some who would disagree)

I personally find it frightening, that this woman will be a part of molding the mind of a child.

Maybe she never owned a globe because maybe she was used to seeing the world lay flat on her wall.

Yes...yes indeed.  A MAP can really throw off a persons perspective.  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/c008.gif" border=0]

Or maybe she lacked the essential nutrients her brain needed.

I would say that one day society will evolved enough to consider this as mental cruelty toward a child.

Well I don't think it's a very long journey to consider this neglectful TODAY.  If she's confused about flat and round.....will she be able to explain hot and cold sufficiently ?  Right and left....right and wrong ?[/DIV]

I hope she knows that it doesn't matter if you're black or white...

Hey!  That's not very nice calling someone who was a jehova witness and a born again "crazy!"  You don't even know her!  You've never met her!  You can't come to these types of generalized assumptions.
