I take it from the Aquatic Centre on the westend side to Granville Island in the morning. The ferry goes all the way to Science World during the day. It's a nice way to get to work. There's also the Aqua Bus too that goes from Hornby to Science World with stops on the way.

The false creek ferry ride from Science World to Granville Island is reallly beautiful. It was an expensive ride but on Canada Day, it was a 2-for-1 deal if you wore the Canada colors.
