The thing that bothers me the most about IMDB is the fact that ratings can be inaccurate.
For example, take 2 classic Japanese horror movies: Kairo and Ringu. Kairo got 6.7 , and Ringu got 7.4 (as of Feb 28 / 2007).
I guarantee Kairo is much scarier than Ringu, but these voters don't think so!! Kairo makes a lasting impression on you - whenever you're in a dark place, you think about the movie. Ringu is over-hyped, the story is too rushed, and the climax isn't even close to the scares that Kairo presents. I'm never worried about the chick from Ringu popping out of nowhere; however, Kairo's ghosts are F'N SCARY!!! I keep thinking they would appear from under the bed, when I look in the bathroom mirror when I'm in there at night - ANYWHERE!
So don't trust the IMDB ratings.
