So this past saturday my gf had her company xmas party and I went along too. It was a pretty cool idea as it was a harbour cruise with dinner and drinks. Wine was complimentary but all others you had to pay for. I ended up paying 5 bucks a drink.

Dinner was a buffet with lots of salads, fish, roast beef, and other desert stuffs. I was the only one that went for thirds.

Pretty cool meeting alot of her co workers, kinda funny at the same time as pretty much all of them looked UP at me and went 'oooh, YOURE Russ her bf!'

Her bosses all liked me, I didnt know who I was talking to until she kicked me in the shin and told me after.

Only bad part was there was no announcements as to where the ship was and people missed it. I found I was telling people where we were as I know Vancouver Harbour and Indian Arm well. The ship also left late, and made everyone leave right after the ship docked, I heard that the booking agent told the organizing commitee they could stay until 1230...

But great time! My company cause its an international company cant hold an xmas party for all of us.. so they send us a christmas card with a gift certificate for a restaurant. Only they still havent picked up on that the card is only good for the UK.

Anyone else had one yet? Where did you go and did anything interesting happen?

Hubby's is coming up.....we usually get a hotel, so we can have a few cocktails.  It's sounding like he's not up for going.  Last year, they had a proffessional dance team teach everyone the tango.  Don't know what's on the agenda this year.....it's always a secret.

I don't think my company is doing anything. They're not into doing much for the staff.

Oooh, dancing lessons! That sounds like a really good idea PC! Sounds like your husbands company really puts thought into the enjoyment of its employee's. I like the 'secret' until the last minute too!

Thats too bad about your company though, sounds like where my mother used to work, Zellers. She would get screwed around for her hours, always being sent home when she needed the hours. Then the xmas party was a joke. She went to a new place and really likes it now, says she's treated like a person. She used to be a nurse, but after my bro and I were old enough she didnt want to go back to the long shifts, so she let her lisence expire and went to zellers.

His company is awesome.  They have all kinds of incentives....bonuses on the monthly profits...contributing to RRSP's....tons of stuff.  My place really doesn't give a hoot.  It doesn't matter how much to put into that job, or how good you are at it.

Sounds like you had a great time.  Did you get drunk?

My party is this Saturday evening.  I'm excited about getting all dolled up.  I haven't gotten all dolled up since grad night.  It's fun once in a while. I will for sure be drinking more than 2 drinks and because I'm on the Committee, my perk is to get a little more than 2 drink tickets.  LOL.  I'm looking forward to having the salsa dancers perform.  It's only going to be for half an hour but something is better than nothing.  I like the idea of Tango lessons, PC.  I shall consider that for next year.  Next year, it's going to be at a BORING downtown hotel.  This'll be my first 'xmas party with this company.

Sounds like fun purelife.  Getting all perddied up is fun.  I wear semi-casual/sportish type clothes at work, so it's always nice to put on the glitz.

Salsa dancing sounds pretty nice too.....FUN !!!!

It sure will be fun to watch.  I wished that we get to participate.  I miss salsa'ing.  Oh, good times.  Good times...

I love to watch excellent dancers......but I like to dance too.  It would be nice for them to get everyone involved, and show them a few moves. THAT'S partying.

Darn.  Salsa dancers could only come between 7:30 to 8pm (originaly it was 8:30 - 9:00) and the chair lady of the committe decided that it was best to cancel them so that dinner wouldn't be interrupted.  Oh well.

our company usually does the boat cruise during the summer. the food is ok and the actual boat cruise itself is kinda boring for me. free food and drinks tho!

our christmas party is at the seasons in the park. very expensive but i dont have to pay a cent so im not complaining.

Sweet!

We are doing a Christmas ski weekend in Lake Louise this weekend. Spouses too, all paid for, food and hotel included. After skiing/boarding on Saturday, we are having a buffet supper at a hotel.

Those that don't ski/snowboard, suck and they can stay home...just kidding, they are still invited for the dinner and party afterwards.

Problem, Chinook is slaughtering the snow, but hey! the Caesars and other things still taster yummy! Happy December!

HEY! Just thought I'd announce, I just gave P.C. her 400th bless..

P.C.

Hey THANKS CK......bless yer lil cotton socks !!!!!

A ski weekend.....wow, how extravagant.  Who planned this Christmas do......LOL

Just a group at work planned it. A bunch of gals that seem to basically get paid to put on company functions.

Should be fun, I am doing my snow dance again.

Meh. Not doing the Christmas party with the boss this year. Kinda uncomfortable weird because we're such a small group practise, just me, my hubby and her.
