Does hentai mean anything? I thought it meant the japan animes about girls, like a tradename.

A friend of ours is a Japanese chef.  He brought a 'salad' one night for dinner at our place, and it looked like (well it WAS) a big bowl of vinegar with abalone and cucumber slices floating around in it.  I thought.....'ermmm, yeeaah...nice.'  But it was excellent.  In my ignorance, I didn't know there was an art to making raw abalone, edible.  *who knew*
