I'd have to say, I never check a graph or chart or a guide to decide what I should eat.....nor do I ever want to get to that point. . I trust my own instincts over scientists, who continually retract their findings every few months. What was good for you a few months ago, has now been found to cause tantrums in white mice. (alright, I made that one up)
If I ever decided to eat all the daily requirements on the Canada Food Guide, I'm sure I'd be 200 lbs. inside of a year. I know what's good for me, and I know what's bad for me and I choose not to sweat it, if I choose something that's 'not good for me' now and then. My complexion, my waistline and my energy level are what I use as my 'guide'......and so far it works OK.
