Morning DS'ers!
We made it home sunday afternoon. Got through the truck crossing in 20 minutes including hitting the duty free. Was surprised when we went through as the bottles of hard sold there were 1 litre bottles.. instead of the standard 26, 40, and 60 oz bottles (0.75, 1.14, 1.75 Litres). We bought the allowed amount of food items you could bring back like turkeys and such. Went to the WinCo and Ross stores at the exit directly before the seattle outlet stores.
Had a good time in seattle. Went to that outdoor store REI when we were there and discovered that on average, the prices there were 10-20% higher than in canada? I was amazed.. and people obviously thought that they were good prices as the place was PACKED and huge lineups for the items.
We searched many online sites from teh hotel, trying to find close food places on a map layout with different types of dining and couldnt find anything liek that? Tried this site and found it to be frustrating.. so we just got out and wandered. Went to pike market then back zig zagging towards the hotel and ended up at a place called ambers? or something to that effect. On bell and 1st avenue I believe. It was pretty good. Tried 6 types of mixed drinks and decided we liked the singapore sling there (close to the real ones in singapore), and the cat in the hat drink. Which was like a strawberry shortcake.
We also bought one of those gps navigation units. It seems like a good one so far.. I will have to keep an eye on how its working iwth the routes I normally go though. so far it seems good. I got the 5 inch garmin one.. with a number of cool sounding features I dont have a clue about.. yet.
The hotel we stayed at was good.. however Im going to send in a complaint as they refused to recognize my bcaa card as a member equivalent of aaa. Even though the card had aaa on the back they wouldnt accept it.

Well, I now have to make a bunch of calls and find out whats the status of the process of next of kin and the stuff from the late tenant in my suite. I am getting royally screwed by the city hall and other departments cause they dont know what to do, or they are dragging their ass.

Jeez Russ....sorry about the issues around your tenant.  It must be difficult to deal with from all angles.  Had you ever met any of his family at all ?

  Sounds like a good weekend, Russ.

  I had a weird weekend.  After battling a week of wicked cough, I slept.  And slept.  And woke up feeling like a senile person who couldn't distinguish dreams from reality or past from present.

  But I did manage to run some errands, get my hair done and go to church.  But still...I cough.

He has relatives in Alberta that never got along with him when he was young, his mother left him to be raised by his grandparents there. His mother fled to california and passed away a few years ago. He has a daughter back east that he never met or talked to.. she has two children. Nobody wants to pay for the fees for the services provided so far.. or for the funeral. Therein lies the crux and the holdup of everything...


I never heard of WinCo until I took a wrong turn one time trying to get to the seattle outlet malls. After starfishie and I had loving words to each other over whom directed whom where and where they could go.. we noticed a Ross near the end of the freeway exit. We went there and as we did we saw this massive store that had a number of canadian plates parked outside of it.. and some of them were loading huge buggies into the back of their vehicles. So we decided to check it out.. VERY good prices.

I had a weird weekend.  After battling a week of wicked cough, I slept.  And slept.  And woke up feeling like a senile person who couldn't distinguish dreams from reality or past from present.
 
But I did manage to run some errands, get my hair done and go to church.  But still...I cough.


Good to hear you are doing a bit better LM! Are you sure its not overtired and stress? I get that way at points when I work overtime and have some pressing issues on the vessel. I work 12 hour shifts 7 days a week for 8 weeks at a time.. You are a very involved mother that does amazing amounts of activities for and with your family, also working and helping your husbands company...
Hope your cough goes away! Starfishie has that right now, as well as a funny feeling stomach.

Thats too bad about your back PC.. hopefully it gets better!

I realized a little while ago that my truck I got has a bluetooth setup in it.
However.
the blasted thing wont reset and let me enter a new password. I tried all sorts of things suggested.. and now I find I have to go to the dealer for help. They never gave me a straight answer if they would charge me for helping.

Im thinking its getting closer for a run to restore as well

HI!

MrPL's bday tonight so he requested slow cooked bbq ribs, creamed corn, mashed taters, roasted zuchinni and red peppers.  YUM!!  We have family bringing over homemade cheesecake and his favorite, tuxedo cake.  It's gonna be a surprise because he doesn't know anyone is coming over in about an hour.  

I'm calling my little one, Gohan because he has TONS of hair and it's so spikey.  Gohan is a dragonball Z character.  

I think we've finally kinda established a routine.  For the first 3 weeks, it was so freakin hectic.  He had his days/nights mixed up.  Now, he can sleep at night in his OWN bed without any fuss.  He goes to bed at around 11.  BUT, in the evening, after his bath at 8, it takes him a while to calm down to sleep, so he ends up crying.

Oh, gotta go.  I'll write more later.
