[p style="font-style: italic;" class="MsoBodyText"][span lang="FR-CA"]Michel - if PC smites you, she does it ever so gently with her great featherduster so you've nothing to fear from her.[/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"][!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--] [o:p][/o:p][/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"]Lise, I'm not scared of PC, I'm scared of evil-PL ! She threatened me more than once to smite me, even promising me to be my « first one » lol.[/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"][!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--] [o:p][/o:p][/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"]Michel ! Your back. lol about your smiting fears. But seriously.....how come you don't register really ? (not that I'm trying to push you into it.....I'm just curious)[/span][span style=""][o:p][/o:p][/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"] So where did you go for your long weekend get away? Did you get to see any wildlife ?[/span][/p][span lang="FR-CA"] [!--[endif]--][o:p][/o:p][/span] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"]PC, I saw about 40 deers on the eastern side of the Cascades in the area of Winthrop, actually it's the Okanogan (no spelling mistake here) range there, totally different landscape. A real marvel and an amazing surprise to me : Mesa and arid plains as far as the eye can see, with basalt and yellow stone, looks like a mix of Utah, Arizona and Yellowstone, very beautiful, dry, hot and sunny. Saw maybe 20 white pelicans also, plus 3 falcon. Happy to have discovered this area cos the Cascades are sure pretty too, but boring for my taste, with one exception, the Liberty Bell mountain is truly amazing, even under grey skies (got some sun too, but really not a lot. I'll go back when it's full sun one day. Since the Cascdes were most of the time under grey skies, the pics are soso.[/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"][!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--] [o:p][/o:p][/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"]The other surprise was that I went to see the tomb of Chief Joseph in Nespelem, I didn't knew he was buried so near the Canadian border. I saw on the map that there was a memorial to him not very far from where I was, so I pushed to there. I tought that it was one of the spot where he fought against the US Cavalry, but it's not the case. I talked to a Nez Perce Native named Gospel, who told me where to find his tomb (I have happy activities on my week-ends eh ? lol). He came to me when he saw I was reading the memorial panel with a revised story (not one mention e.g. that Chief Joseph and his people were blocked at the border by the Mounties cos Bitch Victoria refused to granted him political asylum with his people while they were trying to escape from the US Cavalry).[/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"][!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--] [!--[endif]--][o:p][/o:p][/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"]I was surprised, Gospel knew how to pronounced the name of is Nation in French (Nay Pair-Say). He told me « Naze Purse » is the way the American called them. Sadly, I ask what was the name of his Nation before it has been renamed by the French. His answer : « My mother told me, but I forgot the name ». 13 Nations have been forced to live together in that semi-arid desert, the Nez Perce been the most numerous. The grave are very poor, just a pile of dirt and a piece of concrete or broken asphalt used as tumb stone, or a cross made with 2 pieces of wood flat on the ground. Many babies and young children tumbs also.[/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"][!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--] [o:p][/o:p][/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"]Chief Joseph lie under a tree, the only one in the graveyard, just like the one of Crazy Horse according to the legend (still hidden from the White people by the Sioux even after a century).[/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"][!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--] [o:p][/o:p][/span][/p] [p class="MsoNormal"][span lang="FR-CA"]Why I don't register ? I like my illusion of liberty lol.[/span][/p] [span style="font-size: 12pt;" times="" new="" roman="" ;="" lang="FR-CA"]So what was those 3 PM ? Anything important ?[/span]
