Hello! Hello!!

SD's getting his cholesterol checked? Geez. Aren't you a mite too young for that?

Hubby gets it done all the time. No eating past 10pm so he's basically starving. He hits the labs the moment they open their doors so he can get breakfast down. LOL.

Getting checked for gestational diabetes is waaaay harder though. You don't get to eat past 10pm then they give you this unbelivably sweet orange fizz soda that makes your blood level rocket. Great on an empty pregnant tummy.

Dinner tonight is tofu with salted black beans, green beans in garlic and rice.

Oh er... finally bought the gas stove burner thingy from the Crystal Mall. It was dirt cheap, something like $16.99 for the stove (I didn't get the pot because I know I can get it cheaper elsewhere) and $4 each for the gas canister. Dirt cheap.

They say you're suppose to start taking cholesteral checks at 20. Heck a kid my age I know has colon cancer already.

suppose to get the results tomorrow. My blood pressure is normal but I bet that the cholesteral is through the roof.

I had chicken pad thai.

That means if your number is MORE (EDIT - oops!) than the recommended number then you've got a problem. Be sure to ask your doctor what they each mean. I don't think you should be too worry for now.

Those cholesterol pills are bloody expensive here. We don't have extended health insurance so each time we go to fill them up, they cost about $200. Expensive but what you do? We need it.

Actually if your cholesterol is below 239, triglyceride below 199 and your good cholesterol, HDL above 40 and bad cholesterol, LDL below 129.......that's good

P.C.

Cholesterol levels have a great deal to do with genetics......even more so than diet.  Hubby eats rich rich rich foods all the time, and has for years....and has an insanely excellent cholesterol count.  His doc said.....Lucky you.....good genes.  My brother-in-law on the other hand, is a health nut...and his cholesterol is off the charts.  Go figure.

I've never heard of a cholesterol check for someone your age either.  Your doctor looking to up-grade his boat ?  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="vny!://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/c008.gif" border=0]

Drs. here in the US orders more test than necessary to cover their asses in case of malpractice.  Also SD may have family history of high cholesterol

Yikes.  It's going to be tough trying to take up some sort of life insurance policy, SD.

My theory is you do more damage to yourself sweating about what you MIGHT get.  I'm relatively certain that just living well will be more beneficial.  Everything in moderation.  Happy happy.
