~I'm in the Mood for Lunch~
In that bright hour that day I first beheld
Your wondrous starting course, my heartbeat rang
With glorious joy, and my heart rebelled.
For the joy of lunch, I let all else hang.
In that idyllic moment the birds sang.
Yet that spring of my life was temporal,
And those blissful dreams went out with a bang.
Lunch seemed so perfect, preternatural,
But my winter blew in with the mistral.
I was filled, but it was to no avail,
Lunch slipped into my gut, the cruel tendril.
Lunch that led me down a much sadder trail.
Without your lunch, my heart is not replete,
And without you, my meal is not complete.
