That photo is the exact view from the balcony of a guy I was dating a few months ago.  I work a block from Wall Center, the tall glass building in the center.

Nice shot.  The night view is wicked.

I think its the archetictual design of the buildings that gets me.  I've always been a fan of super modern and glass structures.

I love looking at architecture, however I do find that what is going on currently leaves a lot to be desired, especially in Yaletown.  Most of the buildings are getting pretty boring and it's beginning to have a rather homogenized look with little personality.  Pale blue/aqua steel and glass..  I like to wander around in the West End since there is still a great variety of building styles and ages.  [A href="http://www.lm-horizons.com/vancouver%20library.jpg"]This [/A]is one of my favorite buildings in Vancouver though, by far.

I agree with you about that building.  I thought it was a very clever idea for a library.

Curses, you're right.
And sometimes it's hard to see something from the inside.
Is that why you like being an outsider?    ;)

For thou art with me; thy cream and thy sugar they comfort me
Thou preparest a carafe before me in the presence of Juan Valdez
Thou anointest my day with pep; my mug runneth over
Surely richness and taste shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of coffee forever.

 My questions are:

 Why Canada?
Why not Australia or Britain, like most Americans?

 Why Vancouver?
 Why not Toronto, Ottawa, Québec...?

If you're going to pick a place you've never been, Vancouver is a pretty interesting choice. And you seem so committed to it as well.

 Just curious.

It may be that Sportsdude is wise enough to know that Canada is the promised land.

Trollio

Yeah, but what if somebody promised you Surrey?

Would that be considered fringe benefits?

I'm not sure the fringe would make much of a difference.

You're right. Canada doesn't have a fringe and it's still the promised land.

Has Harper promised it to the U.S.?
