A little bit o' background....
I'm divorced and have full custody of my son. My ex is supposed to pay me child support, but rarely does. When she pays support she pays it to the Office Of Support Enforcement (OSE). They turn around and send me a check for the amount she sends them. With me so far? Good.
So, I get a letter from OSE. It seems the check my ex sent them was no good (surprise!), and they're asking me to return the money they already sent me.
In other words, they want me to cover the bad check my ex wrote to them for the child support [span style="text-decoration: underline;"]I'm supposed to get. [/span]Lol, what's wrong with this picture?
I told the nice folks at OSE that if they want someone to make good on the bad check she wrote, perhaps they could GO AFTER HER. This was an earth-shattering concept for them, but I repeated it several times and I think they got it.
OSE in Seattle is run by a bunch of extremely unfriendly feminazi idiots, and it never crossed their tiny little minds to pursue my ex for the support she owes (over $5,000 currently). No, they'll ask me to make good on it because they feel deep down that it's just wrong for a mother to pay support to a father. (And they've told me as much.)
I hope they brought a cushion, because they'll be waiting until the Sun burns out before I'll take responsibility for my ex's bad checks.
