So what to do now, there's SG but I'm not into flame forums, and blue frost seems very slow, maybe forums are dead

I'm not into flame forums either, and never was, since repetitiveness and spam is something that I abhor, and always have.


The forums that we currently know are as good as dead, mostly due to changing social media habits, but also due in part to forum owners that think they know more than they do...  When they don't.


4chan is a great alternative, and I will post there occasionally.  It still offers some of what old Snitz DV did, and is still busy.  I may be biased, since I have posted there from its beginnings also, as well as that being the same time I started posting at old DV too...


The one somewhat negative thing about 4chan, is its complete desire to have everyone remain anonymous...  I cannot fault that, and it works.  Mods are kept in line too, unlike on these forums.  Nonetheless, I envisioned a slightly more 'personal' level of postings too, where you could probably figure out who the regs were...


When I modded DV, my vision was to set up an environment of relative freedom, ala 4chan, but one that would obviously have a more personal touch amongst its regulars, since I believed that would fill a niche that wasn't well enough embraced at that point...  Google Ads TOS would obviously be the deciding limit, since that revenue pays for hosting costs, etc...  It would have to be respected, whereas on 4chan it is not.


I thought that was a great goal to reach...  Satisfy Google TOS, while still letting the shit flow free... 


And it worked.  It worked very well for a very brief period of time, when Vin finally committed to such the scenario that I had put forth.


The 'powers that be' didn't like things that way...  They always had a f*cking problem with everything...  They needed 'power and control' since they lack it in their real lives, and whined, bitched, and complained until their little temper tantrums were finally caved to...  Idiot Mods and their clique of loser posters that they fawned over...  Mimi sucking Oscar's cock 24/7 is a great example of this bias, as well as the unbelievable amount of 'behind the scenes' geriatric suckling that I witnessed made me sick.  Not even FaceBook would make them happy, even though I know that was what they were trying to recreate...


Other than Blue's forum, which is a poster/Admin that I trust for integrity and respectability, the other related forums of old and new, and the geriatric mental cases that run those cliques, can go f*ck themselves.


TL/DR?  Go to 4chan!

Nah, it's no trouble but SOP is that when something dies, you bury it. lol

I'll leave it up unless something changes. I think forums in general have run their course with some exceptions. There are still active forums out there but I see only a fraction of the way things used to be. I'd guess 80~90% of all forums are mostly dormant. I don't know but I'd guess that a lot of people have moved to Facebook or whatever. And, maybe like everything else, they just have a lifespan and then they die off. I don't know.

Ya, the forums certainly aren't quite what they once were, that's for sure...  You're right, in that some people have probably moved on to other forms of social media like FaceBook, Twitter, or whatever.


I also think part of it could also be too many forums have appeared over time, without much of an increase in posters.  For example, for some time there was just Snitz DV, and then you opened up this place due to some issues some posters had there.  Thing is, since you did that, other posters have done exactly the same thing too, at least a half dozen times or more.  I guess as time goes on, it gets easier and cheaper for just about anyone to open up their own board.  Problem is though, with six different offshoots you don't find six times the number of posters between them.  Everything has become ultra 'diluted' to the point of exactly what you state happens: They essentially become dormant, or if they're lucky maybe have a small handful of posters left.


Nothing ever really seems to stay the same way as it once was it seems, for better or for worse.  Times change, tastes shift...  It's inevitable it seems!
