 I have been on DV, not DDV, for years.  I can't say I have seen anything like that on the DV board.  Now what went on over at DDV, I haven't the foggiest.  It was a little too chaotic for my liking.

We might, but it's hard to predict the future. (I always have a difficult time doing it reliably.) It's all done on a case by case basis but there's a good chance that if someone starts a "Kill The N*ggers" thread here that I or another mod would delete it. Why? Because we'd probably consider in inappropriate. There are plenty of places one can go to have that kind of discussion; this isn't one of them.

And before you go all "freedom of speech blah blah blah" on me, please understand that there's no more freedom of speech here than there is in my living room. There are lots of things you wouldn't let me do in your home, and it's no different here. There are some limits imposed, some things we won't tolerate or allow, and I personally don't lay awake at night feeling guilty over it.

In short, we reserve the right to do whatever we want as the situation warrants, just like you do in certain areas of your life. The users here are guests, not shareholders. Check the TOS; unlike the Constitution there's no right to free speech mentioned anywhere.

We're not obligated to provide anything for anyone at any time, regardless of whether or not a particular person feels it's fair or not. That includes providing an open forum with unlimited "free speech" or allowing stuff we don't like. In short, yes, there are some things we don't want here and won't go along with.

If you want that kind of forum, feel free to start your own. Run it however you like. Nothing's stopping you from doing that except yourself.

 I believe in limits to freedom of speech.  I understand that people set their own limits on their own forums and don't challenge that.  If I don't like it, I know where I can go.  Although racism is not illegal, I see no place for it on any forum I frequent.

 I won't challenge what DV used to be, but the topic at hand is in present tense.  Presently, that crap isn't on DV.  Would that denote improvement?

 Listen, the point is, if you or anyone else here would like to make a claim based on real examples that actually exist, I would happy to have a discussion about it.
