Starfishie would want a bigger purse.

It was a chore to get her to get an egagement ring. I was sweating thinking, hell, this is gonna cost me an arm and a leg and Im looking at rings that are three months my salary thinking I would have to cut down on beer for a while.. and she picked one that while wasnt cheap, wasnt what I was expecting. I knew at that point I picked the right one! Or at least went above my status, lol.

DEAR GOD!  I know families of 6 that live in a home smaller than the closet pictured here.

What the hell is wrong with our society. Who needs that many clothes.  I wear 4-5 shirts 98% of the time I have 3 pairs of jeans and a few pair of dress pants for work, gad zooks!  There may be between 50 and 100 shirts pictured here.  There are only 365 days in a year, after 3-4 years your clothes will be out of style - so you would wear each shirt 1/2 dozen times ??

It's shameful, isn't it ?  We are so spoiled, that we don't even know what spoiled means any more.

I hope not.  I'm sure others do too.

What to do though.

Not really much anyone can do I'm afraid ... there are trillions of $ spent every year telling us we need a bigger this or a newer car or a ... pretty tough to compete with that ... perhaps one day people will understand

Silent in the grave by Deanna Raybourn.  It's also from Pslams  and presumably written by David.

That is correct Gopher I Would have accepted either of those 2 answers, I didn't expect someone to answer with both of them... And yes I assume the Psalm was written by David

the 2 correct answers I would of accepted are..

Psalm 31:17 KJV  Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.

Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn
