How do I think of the USA? As little as possible.

Canada's immigration laws are quite good - The issue is the refugee laws, which are weak and ridiculous. Problem is that under the Canadian Charter of Rights anyone regardless of their status is covered under the Charter if they are on Canadian soil - another little gem that the Sotgwpdt Trudeau saddled Canada with...

P.C.

Perhaps they need to hone the rules regarding what to do before they reach soil.

toughen the rules nope.. but they do need to ship them back were they came form immediatly.. and if they manage to catch any of the smugglers imprison them to for life.. they are destroying people selling them to a life time of indenture.. some family's are still paying for there other family members that were smuggled out 20 years ago..

All to often  they spend the rest of there natural born lives working off the debts they incurred to the snake heads, Some-may finally pay there way out of slavery at 6 to 9 dollars an hour.. but the truth is Canada is to damn soft and has not got any plans on what to do with them once they are here..

They need to be stopped from coming here first. The best way to do that is catch the smugglers & put them in jail for life, then they need to immediately ship the refugees back home.. If these refugees want to come here. do it through the the legal channels

If they refuse to turn around or return where they came from, do the ship harm and force them to turn about and return to port & if that won't work fight dirty.. raid the boats and board them while still at sea. comandeer them & pirate them to what ever country they just left...send em back to there home ports and beach the sailing vessels beach em and blow holes in the hulls so they can not ship em right back out..

Thats only for the illegals though.. Anyone else who comes here on a tourist visa or a student visa and applies for refuge status thats fine.. They may have used a bit of deception to get here, but they did come here legally..

I also don't have a problem of students and those on tourists visa finding jobs, if they can find a job and then get the work visa why not keep em here.. It may be a bit of deception but those things are still legal. If they are willing to work, to learn the language and help to advance Canada, I welcome them..

But to those legals who won't learn the language, they who live only in there own communities and hide illegals from the police, well to hell with them. Canada has enough problems.. Ship the criminals home immediately, including legal immigrants who are hiding criminals such as those illegal immigrants.

If they are here as a immigrant or a refuge & are caught committing a felony and are found guilty ship them back home.. Break the laws of Canada, if they get caught & found guilty, well I say boot em out. Ship them out immediately, back home do not pass go.

Once found guilty in a Canadian court of law, once all due process has been done ship em out the next day. Immediately means right away, none of this 4 years later bullshit. None of this released to the public to earn a living bullshit.. They are criminals by our laws so get them the hell out. They aren't welcome.

A immediate exit straight back to wherever the hell the criminals came from. Foreign CRIMINALS are not welcome here. Canada has enough problems supporting its own poor, forget about the worlds poor.. 35 million for Pakistan. bugger that.. I am sorry how about that 35 millions go to the funding of those cancelled Canadian student breakfast programs. or perhaps it can go to keeping our schools open ? We got enough damn problems in out own country with out fixing the ones in other countries...

I have a problem sending financial aid to those countries where 98 percent of the aid sent wont even reach the general population cause the criminal elements in government power will steal it for themselves anyways.. So why support them, f*ck that..

Then there is the idiotic Catholics where they have forbidden the use of birth control. Stupid stupid stupid.. When people are breeding like rabbits, they soon over populate an area and use up all the regions resources.. what that happens they starve..

over population could of been so easily curbed by letting them have and teaching them that birth control is a viable option. If they wont abstain from sex, at least give them the information needed about birth control.. .. or else expect those over populated countries to go begging to the Americans British or to the Canadians for hand outs..

Curb the over breeding and over population and then you might have enough resources to feed your own damn poor in the times of crises. Lets not forgot those idiotic people who are to stupid to over throw the corrupt government officials who keeps them down trodden and starving..

To damn many of our own children are hungry in school, to many of our own population live in poverty... Fix all the problems here at home.. Lets fix our own problems before we worry about some foreign nations problems..

thats all I got to say on that..

Some of the nearly 500 Tamil migrants who travelled to British Columbia inside a cramped cargo ship had no idea that once they finally set foot on Canadian soil they could be kept behind bars for weeks or even months.

Five of the migrants, all women, participated in an Immigration and Refugee Board hearing in downtown Vancouver on Thursday.

The women, who are being housed at a Vancouver-area correctional facility, were ordered to remain in custody for at least another week. Their next hearing is scheduled for Aug. 26.

Despite the fact that some of the migrants who were aboard a ship that arrived in B.C. last year spent months in custody, not everyone on the latest vessel was aware they could be detained for so long.

The women thought they would be able to explore the country soon after they arrived, said Malini Dyonisius, a lawyer representing the female migrants at Thursday's hearing.

"When they come to Canada, they think the next day they [can] go and see Canada and enjoy," Dyonisius said in an interview. "They are now taken aback. I told them, 'It's not going to be a week or two. It might take months."'
