It was great to have the entire cycling path to me alone.

  BC Day weekend.

Must be nice to have your own holiday to yourself!

So, Newfoundland has like 5 holidays to themselves. They're special apparently.  lol
I hate those holidays, when you're off and nobody else is. It's just weird. Sitting at the park staring at the ground, nothing to do, depressing.

No idea, but I'm not good on holidays, especially if I'm alone. It's like a weekend for me. I'd rather be doing the m-f grind, if I've got nobody to talk to, leads to isolation, lonely, and depressing.

This is the first that I've heard of but this piece of skid is also what he was famous for.

Just reading that made me depressed and sad for you. Jebus Chribst! Sitting at a park staring at the ground on  a day off? You need to see someone soon.

The Newfie holidays you speak of, are you talking about St. Paddys, St. George's, Discovery and Orangemen's Day? Those are not stat holidays.

On another note, BC Day is also the same day off in Ontario, Manitoba, NB, NWT, Sask, AB and NS. It is called Civic Holiday in those places.

I believe Alberta gets an extra official holiday with Family Day. I think Ontario is soon to follow.

  AND on another note,

SNL is going to play the first episode of SNL this weekend when Carlin hosted. Set your PVRs.
When the End comes, don't worry if your party shoes are clean or not. Just make sure you have them on!

I can't stand being alone. Dunno. Like I crave ppl around me. I want peace and quiet but not all the time. If my kids or hubby aren't around, I don't know what to do with myself.

Family Day???? WHEN will it be FD in BC??? Can we do a petition?

Van

Solitude can be good if it is where you want to be. Solitude and depressed, maybe not so good?

I am not into the big crowds anymore either Michel. But definately I like to be around a few friends on a holiday. Preferably out in the forest too. Enough beer in me to make a bad decision, but not so much beer I am puking.

It is the Monday weekend after Valentines I think. Yes it should be Federal.

Crowd can be interesting, it all depends what they're shouting for. Saw a 2 minutes of the show yesterday on Radio-Canada while zapping channels. The artist on stage says "well I don't know when we gonna sail away (from Canada), but one thing is for sure, everybody here can raise the flag high. Are you here Quebeckers ? Raise your flag high". Than he proceed to sing and shout raise the flag raise the flag not stop in front of a delirious crowd waving Québec flags.

I always wonder if PEI was going to sail, or float away?
