Showcase is that channel that likes to show 'filth' as some people would say. To me I find the show were the british guy finds weird sex acts around the world on friday nights, hysterical.

  I dunno, the comment just reminded me of people down here who complain about how TV is indecent and morally corrupting our children with all the sex and violence. lol

  Or better yet the folks who complained in en mass about the Super Bowl Boobgate permenantly 'scarring the children and losing their innocence'.

  Maybe I belong 'down there'. I AM one of those who doesn't believe for a second, that some of that crap definitely does not contribute to a healthy mind.  You'd have to be some kind of miracle worker to convince me, that some of the sick and twisted violence I've seen on TV, doesn't have an affect on young minds.  I also believe, that the bulk of the responsibility lies with parenting......but then that brings it back to having MY choice as to what I want coming into my home.

My experience living in N.A.

Violence is good and applauded.

Any form of sex is riddiculed.

  Example. Dennis Franz show's his butt on NYPD mass hysteria ensues and ABC gets fined by the FFC

Meanwhile on 24 a guy gets a drill to shoulder, people are seen blown up and its all in good taste.

  N.A. is obessed with the ultra violent while Europe is more into sex.

Just look at IMDB movie ratings for movies that have sexual themes. U.S. it will be R and in Europe or Quebec it'll be for 10 years or older.

Yes it would be nice to just pick and choose. Pay for what you want.

If I want hardcore porn and hardcore violence, I should have the right to see as much or as little as I want.

  I think reality TV is worse than anything. People actually believe what they see on Survivor is 'real'.
When the End comes, don't worry if your party shoes are clean or not. Just make sure you have them on!

  Worse than people believing that it's real, is that people are entertained by the exploitation of peoples' personal lives.  It's creepy.  We all waltz happily into the world of voyeurism under the guise of entertainment.  Peoples' struggles with weight loss.....squabbling couples who are making a mess of their children's lives....nothing is sacred.  Private and personal has no meaning.  It used to be considered ultimately low class to air ones' dirty laundry in public.  Isn't it still ?

Everything is staged nothing is real. Even those so called 'educational reality shows'.

  I miss 'Connections' History teacher would always put an episode in for fun I guess. I like how they would go from Napolean needing a way to feed his troops with perservation and end the show with the guy who created Air Conditioning. lol

    Just realized why he made us watch it, its probably the best scientific educational programme every to exist, but Burke poses life questions throughout the series about where this is all going etc.
