Niet, there are other movies called Geronimo and (The) Broken Arrow.

Taslking about remakes, I wonder when they gonna stop redo the Invasion of the body snatchers. The Invasion with Nicole Kidman that will be shown in a few days is the 3rd remake of the same classic... The 2 first remakes were preety lame.

49er

there was this movie based on the half breed character in the Carpetbaggers, starring Steve McQueen.

Lonesome Dove, movie made for TV was another favorite

Lise

Steve McQueen. Now he's quite the tough guy. I love him in that.... OMG... can't remember the stupid movie that he was famous for. Y'know, the prison thingee where he's on a bike? With that famous tune?

Invasion with Nicole Kidman was a remake? Say it isn't so! Oh wow. I was wondering about that... I thought it was just another story about invading aliens, didn't know it was a remake. What a horrible movie to begin with.
Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name will carry.
Bill Cosby.

Michel

yep, 2 remakes already, all have the same name The invasion of the body snatchers, none equal the original. There's even a canadian one with Donald Sutherland, particularly bad, but teenagers love it at the time.

Sportsdude

that would be The Great Escape.

The great escape I assume ? It's a German prisonners camp, not a prison.

Lise

Hey yes, that's the name of the movie. The Great Escape. Good stuff.

Damn, now I have that tune in my head.........

good parody in The Simpsons, with Maggie trying to escape the kindergarden. Winth a shot at the Birds from Hitchkock too.

Forgot to include my vote!

I still think two of the best cowboy classics are:

John Wayne:  The Alamo    [A href="vny!://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053580/"]vny!://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053580/[/A]

Clint Eastwood:  Good, Bad, and the Ugly    [A href="vny!://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060196/"]vny!://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060196/[/A]

lol Russ... I know that it's not a Cowboy movie... :)))    There were cowboys in it, wasn't there?

I don't think that I will ever watch that movie, not my kind of film.

Gopher

Yes, The Alamo was good too. I especially liked the music.

The interesting thing about this thread is that it's shown me just how many cowboy movies are overlooked when people start compiling lists of the best movies over the years. It's an underated genre, that's for sure.

Another good one was Gunfight At The OK Corral.
