I just want to say this. Traveling through the western USA and living there for a year, I have met many cool people. Some became my family to this day. I was very welcomed most places I went.  I liked the prices too, I am not sure if groceries, clothing, other goods are actually cheap there? Or just crazy expensive in Canada?

  Anyways, for whatever reason you will, or will not celebrate this day, hopefully our American bros and sisters get some time off of work to hang with the buddies or family...or just catch up on sleep!

its expensive because of a mix between nafta and importing costs. I think. Plus they base it off of the currency but the problem is its not a floating number that rises and falls with the currency. So when a book is set at 65cents to the dollar and the canadian dollar is almost equal with greenback then its highway robbery. But that's what happens when you base everything off of american money.

anyway happy 4th to those that celebrate. I haven't 'celebrated' a 4th in about 10 years.

He probably can't sleep from the fireworks shooting off 24/7. At night it sounds like we are being bombed by another country. Fireworks (which are illegal in this county) are shooting up in the valley I live in. Everything echoes its annoying. Basically it sounds like thunder every 5 seconds.

what bomb? I was outside last night and I thought I was watching a world war II movie on the bombing of London. Constant boom boom boom. It was insane it didn't stop until midnight either.

Fireworks are illegal in the States?  When did this happen?  They have fireworks all over the place.

Last time the "B" word was mentioned in my office from other co-workers, the Police came to our place and arrested the two fellas.  And, they lost their job.  True story.

P.C. shooting off fireworks is illegal in most if not all urban areas here. And its illegal to have a fireworks store in an urban area because if they store blows up in an urban area it could become a danger to the area. Therefore all fireworks stores are in counties that ok the sale of fireworks usually outside metro areas.

I'm not sure what happened to be exact because I wasn't employed at that time.  I heard it from my Supervisor that the guys were exchanging emails talking about b***s, terro*sts, etc...  Those guys should have done it on their own time, not at work.  Our IT Dept screens for those types of words.  Then, the police came here one afternoon and arrested them.  That was probably the only excitement our company has EVER had.
