i wish

did you know that Einstein tried to become a high school teacher after he graduated college?  and then tried again four years later?  i was delighted to hear that such a genius valued teaching as well as being a scientist.

i wish

he left high school without a diploma.  but managed to enter and graduate from the Swiss Institute of technology.

I never knew that.. interesting. That would have been a twist if the great Einstein would have taught HS and not gone on to do what he did.

I read the book Einsten's Dream's eeons ago and thought it was profound at the time.

I read about Einstein years ago as well... I cant remember anything really from the articles I read either.

he wanted to  be a high school teacher because his previous job at patent office was interferring with his research.

relativity and quantum mechanics.  actually, i'm more interested in how he chose to live his life.  his parents let him free after graduation.  he wanted to be a teacher and believed that freedom fosters creativity.  if his parents were controlling.  the world would not have known about bending of light, relativity, quantum,,  photons.

can't be creative when the kids aren't taught anything in school just constantly tested on meaningless crap. (no child left behind - you spend half the year preparing for a test you don't teach them anything else)
