[FONT size=6]Kitten rescuer punched to ground[/FONT]
A Sydney woman was punched and kicked to the ground by a group of men yesterday several hours after she rescued a kitten from a man who had tried to set it alight, police allege.
The 36-year-old woman was treated overnight at Campbelltown Hospital for a cut to her face and soreness in her chest and shoulders. The kitten escaped injury.
The woman intervened after an 18-year-old man allegedly tried to set the kitten on fire in [A href="vny!://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=silas+way,+ambarvale&sll=-33.891312,151.277629&sspn=0.003104,0.003921&ie=UTF8&z=12&ll=-34.092581,150.803081&spn=0.198169,0.363579&om=1"]Silas Way, Ambarvale[/A], about 4.30pm.
At 7pm, the 18-year-old as well as two other men and a woman allegedly returned to Silas Way, where the kitten rescuer was allegedly punched and kicked to the ground.
A rear window in her car and a front window in her house were allegedly smashed in as well.
Police arrested two men shortly after the incident.
A 21-year-old Campbelltown man was subsequently charged with assault, stalk/intimidate with intent to cause fear, affray and malicious damage.
A 24-year-old Ambarvale man was charged with assault, affray and malicious damage.
After midnight an 18-year-old man was arrested after going to Campbelltown police station.
He was charged with animal cruelty, assault and affray.
All three men are expected to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.
Inquiries into the incident are continuing, police said.
