I had a very happy new year.
small party, All the family togeather & at twelve midnight on came the tv and we heard Big Ben chime...Also watched the masive fireworks display in London. I feel sorry for the people in Scotland as there celebrations were cancelled becouse of high winds and heavy rain...lol, better luck next year.

i guess it is better to have new years celebrations cancelled due to weather than it being cancelled due to bombs as it did in thailand.

[span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"]Well, we had some fireworks, not many, but we also had some bear bombs/ scares[/span]
[hr style="width: 100%; height: 2px;"]Ahhh, so that was the noise.  We thought that they were gunshots and looked out.  They were so damn loud.

Oh, that was nice of you to visit Orik.  He's a nice guy.  :)

Did Vancouver even have any fireworks?? I missed the fireworks from Sydney. Now that's a sigh to behold.

I doubt that Vancouver had fireworks. (may be out in Surrey) Anywhere but Vancouver always has the best fireworks.  That's just sad to know that Vancouver SUCKS in this fireworks department.  Ooooo...Sydney is bootiful!

Lise

Geez. I guess on the bright side, we don't have to pay extra $$$ for fireworks. Plus it rains so often, probably not a good night for fireworks anyways.

Too bad they cancelled the family night out at Granville Island on New Years Eve. Wonder why they did that? It used to be so popular.

I think that there were too many drunks and punks showing up to ruin it for everybody, so they just cancelled it.
Thousands of years ago cats were worshipped.  They have not forgotten.

Yep, this was the reason I remember them gaving in the papers. It IS too bad that it came to that, was a nice thing for families to go to.

The surrey fireworks looked awesome from where we were.

I still think that Vancouver is full of nay sayers and no fun people. Surrey at least is a younger population.

Agree Russ.  Fireworks are fun for the family and everybody else.  Surrey is getting to be the IT place as PNE might be relocating there.  Surrey's Cloverdale Fairgrounds is freaking MASSIVE!

vancouver doesnt really have any sort of celebrations for new years. or canada day for that matter.

it kinda sucks when you look at the celebrations around the world and we dont even have any sort of footage the world can watch.
