Such Bloggers practice the kind of well-researched journalistic integrity grotesquely lacking in the shameful and cowardly American Mainstream News Media (or, more accurately, the Overwhelmingly Fascist American News Media). According to a journalist I know well (a former Forbes editor), people in the American news media today are ashamed of themselves and embarrassed to be a part of their profession. And they should be ashamed of themselves, since journalists in the American news media today are truly among the most vile and disgraceful whores on the face of the planet. The cowardly and corrupt Mainstream American News Media whores have blood on their hands; they aid and abet the traitors carrying out the War Against American Voters and spread the propaganda that facilitates the slaughter of thousands upon thousands of innocent civilians. Thankfully, some people possess the moral fiber and intelligence to accurately report news via blog/alternative news sites such as [a href="vny!://www.rawstory.com/" rel="nofollow"]www.rawstory.com[/a], and [a set="yes" href="vny!://www.blackboxvoting.org/" rel="nofollow"]www.blackboxvoting.org[/a], [a href="vny!://www.theyoungturks.com/" target="_self"]vny!://www.theyoungturks.com[/a], and of course [a set="yes" href="vny!://www.bradblog.com/" rel="nofollow"]www.bradblog.com[/a]. While being a mainstream "journalist" is a mark of shame, the title of "Blogger" is a badge of honor.[/p]

Well said. I have to read Fairness and Accuracy in Media's publication just to find out all the shit the mainstream media chose not to cover (which is generally much more important than the garbage they try to feed the sheeple daily).

What is the purpose of the news media? We like to think the U.S. (home of Freedom and Democracy) excells in freedom of the press, but in many cases their primary purpose seems to be maintenance of the status quo and encouraging a superficial and often ass backwards understanding of the world. Keep in mind that while many street-level journalists may (on a personal level) self-identify as liberal, the situation is reversed when it comes to the newsroom managers, editors and owners of the media outlets who actually decide which stories should be covered.

I'm actually not a big fan of blogs for news to be honest. Call me old-fashioned. BBC, C-Span, NPR and Democracy Now offer much more comprehensive and honest interpretation of the world than mainstream news and I'm a little more comfortable trusting their professionalism than a blog. With blogs it's hit and miss (although I've heard great things about blackboxvoting). I know I'm missing out on a lot of great blogs, I just feel that in many cases they are more suited for opinion pieces and whatnot. People on the Net are so lazy that when they find a blog that happens to support their own personal agenda they take it on faith even though the blogger in question may just be some dissafected whack-job.

I guess what I'm saying is that with both traditional media (radio and tv) and emergent tech like blogs, the most important thing is using critical thinking, fact checking, and relying most on journalists/writers who have a proven track record of honesty and professionalism.

For thou art with me; thy cream and thy sugar they comfort me
Thou preparest a carafe before me in the presence of Juan Valdez
Thou anointest my day with pep; my mug runneth over
Surely richness and taste shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of coffee forever.

We need to be selective, sure.  [a  href="vny!://www.rawstory.com"]www.rawstory.com[/a] practices very strict journalistic ethics when it comes to facts, unlike the disgraceful mainstream meda.

I will check them out.
Thanks for helping me to expand beyond my lazy borders    :)

Yes, do check out [a style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 191);" href="vny!://www.rawstory.com/"]www.rawstory.com[/a] , a news venue that actually practices journalistic integrity, something missing from the disgraceful mainstream American media (overwhelmingly fascist as it is).
