I thought that I would start a new thread.

I love to read and I am always looking for a new book to devour.  I typically go by recommendations because I hate picking up a book and getting half way through just waiting to "get into it" and then realizing that the book bites.

So I thought that we could post some of our favorite books here and say a bit about them.

My most recent book I read: A million little pieces by James Frey.  I really enjoyed it.  It's an addicts account of his 6 weeks in rehab.  Very interesting.  Good read.  It got some heat on Oprah because apparently there was a smoking gun report that poked some holes in his story.  The book now has an opener written by James Frey admitting a couple of exaggerations but still a really good read.

Oh, I saw that book up for recommendations on Oprah.  My friend told me to read A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry, also recommended by Oprah.  I got like 1/4 way into the book and stopped because it was just too depressing for me.  I was crying in the beginning and my friend said that it was most sad in the end.  Gosh, I would be balling my eyes out.

I heard that Michael Connelly is good.  Have you ever read any of S.M. Stirling's books?

Russ
