I tell ya.....clues are the hardest !  The name of this fruit/veggie is also used as a term in baseball.

I know very little about baseball, but when I looked up baseball terms the only plant I could find was the Pitcher plant, but that's a carnivorous plant.  I doubt that it's the one you are looking for!
